Netgear to acquire Exium, expanding cloud-based security solutions for SMEs
Networking solutions provider NETGEAR Inc (NASDAQ:NTGR) announced on Thursday that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire cybersecurity company Exium, advancing its strategy to deliver integrated networking and security solutions to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
This acquisition supports NETGEAR's ongoing investment in cloud-based business connectivity and will add a Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platform to its product lineup.
Exium's technology is designed for managed service providers and enables rapid deployment of secure networking services to SMEs.
With this acquisition, NETGEAR for Business plans to launch an all-in-one solution combining wired and wireless networking with firewall and security features.
The Exium team, including CEO Farooq Khan, will join NETGEAR's leadership and continue to lead development of the integrated solution.
Subject to customary closing conditions, the transaction is expected to close by the end of the second quarter of 2025.
