Brookfield and La Caisse complete acquisition of Boralex for CAD37.25 per share
Boralex Inc. (TSX: BLX), a Canadian renewable energy producer which operates in Canada, France, the US, and the UK, announced on Friday that it has been acquired by Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. (TSX: BAM; NYSE: BAM), its institutional partners including renewable power platform Brookfield Renewable Partners (TSX: BEP.UN, BEPC; NYSE: BEP, BEPC), and global investment group La Caisse through a plan of arrangement under the Canada Business Corporations Act.
The Purchaser bought all issued and outstanding class A common shares for CAD37.25 per share in cash.
Funds have been delivered to Computershare Investor Services Inc. to enable payment to shareholders, with disbursements to be made as soon as practicable. Registered shareholders must return completed letters of transmittal to receive consideration for their shares.
Following completion of the transaction, Boralex expects its shares to be delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange on or about 17 August 2026 and has applied to cease being a reporting issuer across Canadian provinces. The company will continue to operate independently, supported by investment from Brookfield and La Caisse to meet rising demand for renewable energy.
