OnceMore partners with TextileGenesis to expand digital traceability

OnceMore, Swedish forestry industry group Södra's large-scale process for recycling blended fabrics into dissolving pulp, will adopt technology from TextileGenesis, a Lectra SA (EPA: LSS) software company, to strengthen traceability from raw material to retail, Södra announced on Wednesday.

OnceMore produces dissolving pulp from blended textile waste and wood sourced from responsibly managed Swedish forests. Aiming to meet rising demand for verified supply-chain data, the rollout establishes a digital chain of custody for OnceMore materials, covering pulp and fibre production through to finished garments, and consolidates supply-chain information into a single system to improve transparency across tiers and regions.

The move is intended to support circular man-made cellulosic fibre production and prepare for regulatory requirements, including the forthcoming EU Digital Product Passport. TextileGenesis' Fibercoin token system will generate digital tokens linked to material volumes, creating a verified footprint at each transformation stage and reducing reliance on manual documentation. OnceMore's suppliers are being onboarded to the platform and will record transactions through Fibercoin modules to ensure consistent data capture and visibility of material flows.

OnceMore was introduced in 2019 with 3% blended textile waste content, rising to 20% today, with a target of 50%. Its operations are based at Södra's Mörrum mill in Sweden.
