Farrar, Straus and Giroux relaunches North Point Press imprint with focus on practical nonfiction

Publishing company Farrar, Straus and Giroux (FSG), a division of Macmillan Publishers, announced on Tuesday that it has relaunched its North Point Press imprint, with a renewed focus on books offering practical guidance across personal development, health, food, ecology and social change.

Originally founded in 1978 and acquired by FSG in 1991, North Point Press is being revitalised to publish intellectually driven, solutions-focused nonfiction that addresses the complexities of modern life. President and Publisher Mitzi Angel said the imprint aims to meet rising reader demand for clarity and purpose by offering "thoughtful and imaginative ideas" through works that extend FSG's existing nonfiction portfolio.

The first title under the revived imprint will be 'What to Eat Now: The Indispensable Guide to Good Food, How to Find It, and Why It Matters' by Marion Nestle, publishing on 11 November 2025. The book is an updated edition of her influential 'What to Eat' (2006), and explores the evolving landscape of American food culture, including topics such as ultra-processed foods, cannabis-infused products and corporate influence on nutrition.

Jenna Johnson, Senior Vice President and Editor in Chief, described Nestle as "an innovator and trusted expert," adding that the launch reflects North Point's mission to recast the prescriptive nonfiction category.

Catherine Tung has joined FSG as Senior Editor to spearhead acquisitions for North Point Press. Her previous editorial work includes titles on spirituality, psychology, design and activism, aligning with the imprint's expanded thematic range.

Farrar, Straus and Giroux, part of Macmillan Publishers under the Holtzbrinck Publishing Group, continues to build on its legacy of publishing award-winning nonfiction that shapes public discourse and personal transformation.
