Wearable Devices secures US patent for precision gesture control in AI-powered wearables
Technology company Wearable Devices Ltd (Nasdaq: WLDS, WLDSW) announced on Friday that it has been granted a continuation patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for its 'Gesture and Voice-Controlled Interface Device', reinforcing its position in the AI-powered touchless wearables market.
The patent addresses key limitations of existing gesture systems, which often lack clarity in start and stop intent.
Wearable Devices' innovation enables devices to accurately detect the beginning and end of continuous gestures, supporting intuitive mid-air actions such as pinch-to-zoom, volume adjustments, and object manipulation -- without physical touch or additional triggers.
The technology is compatible with AR headsets, smart devices, and wearable controllers using cameras, Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), or electromyography (EMG) sensors, and aims to bring natural and precise gesture control to mainstream digital applications.
This advancement is designed to eliminate reliance on clunky workarounds like wake words or multi-hand inputs, enhancing user experience across next-generation digital ecosystems.
