Nokia partners with atNorth for 12-year high-density cloud deployment in Finland

Nordic data centre services company atNorth announced on Tuesday that it has entered into a 12-year agreement with Finnish telecoms, IT and consumer electronics company Nokia Oyj (HEL:NOKIA) (NYSE:NOK) to deploy a multi-megawatt high-density cloud infrastructure at its FIN02 data centre in Espoo, Greater Helsinki

The deployment will support workloads exceeding 130kW per rack and includes potential capacity extensions totalling over 10MW.

The collaboration strengthens Nokia's long-standing relationship with atNorth, whose data centres in Iceland and Sweden already use Nokia's data centre switches for high-performance computing services. This new deployment aligns with Nokia's focus on sustainable infrastructure, leveraging Finland's cool climate and renewable energy to power operations.

FIN02 is designed for scalability and features liquid cooling, modular architecture, and full renewable energy usage. The site further supports sustainability through a partnership with Kesko Corporation to recycle waste heat for retail heating.

atNorth is also expanding its Finnish footprint with two additional metro sites and a fourth mega data centre under development in Kouvola, expected to go live by year-end 2025.
