Synaptics launches Veros Wi-Fi 7 SoCs to power next-generation IoT applications
Technology company Synaptics Incorporated (Nasdaq:SYNA) announced on Monday that it has expanded its Veros wireless portfolio with the introduction of its first Wi-Fi 7 systems-on-chips (SoCs) designed specifically for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
The new family, comprising the SYN4390 and SYN4384, supports bandwidths up to 320 MHz to deliver 5.8 Gbps peak speed and low latency.
These triple-combo SoCs integrate Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and Zigbee/Thread technologies while supporting Matter for interoperability across heterogeneous networks. Target applications include 8K video streaming, gaming, AR/VR, security monitoring and automotive entertainment.
The devices leverage Wi-Fi 7's multi-link operation for simultaneous use of 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands, enabling reliable, real-time communication. An integrated RF front-end, power management IC and Arm cores contribute to lower system costs and improved power efficiency by offloading networking functions from the host processor.
The SYN4390 is now available for sale, while the SYN4384 is available in limited quantities for evaluation.
