Quercus to publish new work by TikTok sensation Lyla Sage
Book publisher Quercus has secured UK and Commonwealth rights to a new duology, Sweetwater Peak, as well as three novellas, by TikTok sensation Lyla Sage, book news company The Bookseller revealed on Tuesday.
The acquisition, led by editorial director Emma Capron, was brokered through Anna Carmichael of Abner Stein on behalf of Jessica Watterson from Sandra Dijkstra Literary Agency.
Sweetwater Peak is a small-town romance series centered on twin sisters running their family's antique shop in Wyoming. Blending romance, family ties and gothic western elements, the story features the sisters' shared ability to communicate with ghosts. Sage describes the series as "a contemporary take on western gothic romance."
The three novellas, set in Sage's Rebel Blue Ranch universe, include a prequel exploring Amos Ryder's love story. Capron highlighted Sage's previous success and expressed confidence in the strong reader appeal of both the duology and the novellas.
Sage reaffirmed her enthusiasm for working with Quercus, stating that Sweetwater Peak reflects deeply personal themes in a "soft, sexy, and slightly spooky package." Watterson echoed the sentiment, praising the ongoing collaboration between Sage and Quercus.
