Faber to publish Claire Adam's heartfelt second novel, Love Forms

Book publisher Faber announced on Monday that it will publish Love Forms, the second novel from award-winning author Claire Adam, best known for her debut Golden Child.

The novel, a poignant exploration of love and regret, will be released on 19 June 2025.

Love Forms will also be published by Hogarth in the US.

The book was acquired by Faber's Alex Bowler, who secured UK, Commonwealth, and EU (excluding Canada) rights from Zoë Waldie at RCW.

Set in Trinidad in 1980, Love Forms follows Dawn Bishop, a 16-year-old who leaves her home for Venezuela, where she gives birth to a daughter and leaves her for adoption. As Dawn builds a life in England, the memory of the child she left behind never fades. Four decades later, an online message from a woman claiming to be her long-lost daughter stirs up a complex mix of emotions and unanswered questions.

Publisher Alex Bowler described the novel as a "heart-splitting story" that delves into the themes of love, parenting, regret, and the yearning to undo past choices.

Claire Adam's debut novel, Golden Child, won several prestigious awards, including the Desmond Elliott Prize and the McKitterick Prize, and was named one of the BBC's '100 Novels that Changed the World'.

Born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Claire Adam now resides in London with her husband and children. Golden Child was her first novel, and she continues to work with Faber, expressing her gratitude for the publisher's ongoing support.
