Little Tractor Brown explores self-worth and purpose in new children's book by Jolene Pisel
Publishing company WestBow Press revealed on Monday that it will publish a new rhyming children's book by Jolene Pisel, titled Little Tractor Brown, in which the author addresses themes of self-worth, identity and purpose.
Little Tractor Brown draws on real Iowa farming experiences and follows a small tractor learning to recognise its value on a working farm.
The narrative centres on a modest brown tractor that feels inferior to larger, newer machines. After joining Farmer Frank's farm, it contributes to daily tasks and gradually realises its unique capabilities are essential to farm life, reinforcing themes of individuality and self-acceptance.
Pisel said the book was inspired by her life on an Iowa farm and her relationship with her husband, who influenced the character Farmer Frank, as well as her late father, who shared the same name. She said the story aims to encourage children to understand their inherent value and the importance of self-belief and encouragement from others.
Little Tractor Brown is available via Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Pisel, an Iowa native and former dairy farmer, wrote the book following retirement, drawing on decades of agricultural experience and storytelling for children.
