Random House Books for Young Readers to publish Caitlin Clark's debut children's book 'EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams'
Publishing company Penguin Random House announced on Wednesday that Caitlin Clark will publish her first children's picture book, EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams, through Random House Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Random House Children's Books.
World rights were acquired by Sara Sargent from Excel Sports Management.
Clark, the number one pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft for the Indiana Fever, has become a leading figure in women's basketball, driving increased audiences and cultural visibility for the sport. Her debut book delivers an inspirational message centred on perseverance and recognising the value of small efforts in achieving larger goals.
Written in rhyming verse and illustrated by Adriana Predoi, the book draws on a personal childhood motto that shaped Clark's outlook. It aims to encourage young readers to pursue their ambitions while valuing the people and moments that support them. An audiobook edition will be released simultaneously by Listening Library.
