Nokia and Turkcell complete AI-driven upgrade of Türkiye's fixed network
Finnish telecoms, IT and consumer electronics company Nokia Oyj (HEL: NOKIA) (NYSE: NOK) said on Thursday that it has completed a project with Turkish telecoms operator Turkcell (BIST: TCELL) (NYSE: TKC) to enhance the operator's fixed broadband performance for more than 3 million customers across Türkiye.
Launched in early 2025, the initiative provides end-to-end visibility from access networks to subscriber home networks, using AI-driven automation to detect potential issues before they affect users and to improve operational efficiency. Turkcell has deployed a large-scale analytics system that is designed to processes hourly service-quality data for an estimated 15 million connected devices, with the aim of reducing the risk of faults and outages through near real-time monitoring.
Nokia's cloud-native fixed network analytics platform is designed to support future autonomous and cognitive network operations.
Statements from Turkcell and Nokia highlighted the role of AI-based insights in earlier issue identification, more accurate prioritisation and smoother day-to-day network management.
