Avtech expands real-time data sharing with air traffic control to improve flight efficiency
Digital air traffic control systems specialist AVTECH Sweden AB (NASDAQ First North Growth Market:AVT-B) is advancing its initiative to share real-time flight trajectory and turbulence data with air traffic control, supporting the transition toward Digital Air Traffic Management, the company said on Thursday.
The development enables airlines using its AVTECH's ClearPath platform to enhance operational efficiency through improved coordination with controllers.
Initial operational tests show increased time at optimal flight levels and reduced radio communication, contributing to lower fuel consumption, reduced CO2 emissions, improved punctuality, and enhanced safety. The integration of airline-specific data into air traffic control (ATC) systems also supports smoother traffic flow with fewer interventions such as vectoring and step climbs.
Launched in February 2025 with a European air traffic control centre, the initiative currently involves two airlines participating in a pre-study to assess use cases and data requirements. AVTECH plans to expand participation in 2026, refine system integration, and publish case-study results while progressing toward full operational deployment.
The ClearPath system generates real-time optimisation insights using aircraft data, performance models, and weather inputs, with selected data shared with ATC under airline authorisation.
