Book publisher Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers announced on Monday that it will publish Grammy and Emmy Award-winning artist Lizzo's debut children's book, Lil Lizzo Meets Sasha B. Flootin', on 8 September 2026.

The picture book, illustrated by Mark Pett and edited by Kendra Levin, follows a young girl and her brassy flute on a musical adventure through jungle, ocean and outer space, celebrating friendship, self-discovery and finding your own voice. Copies will include a QR code linking to an original song composed by Lizzo exclusively for the book.

Lizzo, a four-time Grammy winner and Emmy recipient, has achieved global success as a singer, songwriter, rapper and actress, with multiple chart-topping hits including About Damn Time and Truth Hurts, sold-out tours, Emmy-nominated specials and roles in film and television. She also founded the inclusive shapewear brand Yitty.

Mark Pett is an award-winning author and illustrator known for The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes and I Eat Poop: A Dung Beetle Story.
