Planet secures eight-figure contract renewal with international defence and intelligence customer
Planet Labs PBC (NYSE: PL), a provider of daily satellite imagery and geospatial intelligence, on Wednesday announced the renewal of an eight-figure contract with a longstanding international defence and intelligence customer for continued access to its high-resolution imagery services.
Under the renewed agreement, the customer will leverage Planet's Pelican and SkySat constellations for assured tasking and rapid imaging, supporting mission-critical monitoring and intelligence operations in strategically important regions.
The deal reinforces Planet's expanding footprint in the global defence sector, following recent agreements with the German government, NATO, the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Navy and the U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency earlier this year.
Founded in 2010 by former NASA scientists, Planet operates the world's largest commercial Earth observation satellite fleet, providing daily global coverage. Its data and analytics solutions serve customers across defence, agriculture, energy, finance and environmental sectors - helping them visualize, understand and act on change anywhere on Earth.
