Qt Group partners with Infineon to accelerate AI-enabled consumer device development
Finnish software company Qt Group Plc (HEL: QTCOM), announced on Friday plans to integrate its high-performance graphics framework, Qt for MCUs, into German semiconductor company Infineon Technologies AG's (FSE: IFX) new PSOC Edge microcontroller.
Qt for MCUs will serve as the embedded graphical user interface framework within Infineon's hardware ecosystem. The integration aims to enable device makers to build visually rich user interfaces on low-memory, resource-constrained hardware, shortening time to market for consumer AI devices.
Target use cases cited include smart health wearables, smart home hubs, and next-generation human-machine interfaces combining touch, voice and gesture control.
Developers using the combined solution will gain access to Qt Group's design quality assurance tools alongside Infineon's ModusToolbox framework to speed deployment and automated GUI testing.
The partnership expands Qt Group's previous collaboration with Infineon, which brought the Qt toolkit to Infineon's TRAVEO T2G automotive microcontrollers. The companies are now extending their joint innovation into broader consumer and industrial use cases, and the partners say their combined solution will help developers deliver fluid, intuitive, and power-efficient AI-driven user experiences across a range of edge devices.
