Sectra expands pre-operative planning solution with Smith+Nephew 3D templates
Sweden-based medical imaging IT and cybersecurity company Sectra (STO: SECT B) announced on Thursday that it has expanded its pre-operative planning solution for orthopaedic trauma with 3D templates from Smith+Nephew plc (LSE: SN).
The expanded template library, which now covers nearly 80% of the orthopaedic trauma market, aims to support broader adoption of digital pre-operative planning, enabling patient-specific treatments and improving operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
Sectra's 3D solution is designed to allow surgeons to visualise fractures in an interactive 3D environment with advanced bone segmentation, helping determine surgical approach and implant choice before theatre. This approach seeks to reduce the risk of intraoperative surprises and shorten operating time, reducing risk of infection and complications for patients.
The 3D planning solution is part of Sectra's enterprise imaging suite centred on a vendor neutral archive, designed to scale across specialties and enterprises while lowering operational costs.
