Kanthal expands wire manufacturing capacity in Hosur to meet growing Asian demand
Swedish alloy company Alleima AB (STO:ALLEI) announced on Friday that its Kanthal division has inaugurated a new wire manufacturing facility at its Hosur plant in India, more than tripling its production capacity.
The 1,980 square metre expansion is designed to optimise global output while reducing lead times for customers across Asia. The new production line incorporates advanced automation, end-to-end wire manufacturing capabilities, and fully automated spooling operations.
The investment is expected to strengthen Kanthal's ability to serve India, Southeast Asia, and selected European markets with fine dimension wire, a core offering since the company's founding in 1931. Customers should benefit from faster delivery and lower minimum order quantities.
According to Robert Stål, President at Kanthal, the project addresses rising demand in Asia for fine dimension wire.
