YIT to develop EUR21m residential project in Helsinki's Hermanni district
Finnish Construction company YIT Oyj (HEL:YIT) on Friday announced the launch of Asunto Oy Helsingin Taikalyhty, a self-developed residential project in the Hermanni district of Helsinki.
The development will comprise three six-storey apartment buildings with a total of 52 homes, valued at approximately EUR21m. Construction is scheduled to begin in August 2025, with completion expected by the end of 2026.
The project will offer approximately 3,400 square metres of residential space, with apartments ranging from 33 to 96.5 square metres. Layouts include studios and family-sized units, all designed to optimise natural light and functionality.
Taikalyhty will feature premium shared amenities, including a rooftop landscape sauna, a club room with a terrace, and practical facilities such as a laundry, drying areas, pram storage, and a bicycle maintenance room.
The development meets EU taxonomy criteria as well as energy class A standards. Geothermal systems will provide heating and cooling, with apartment-level water consumption monitoring and a carbon footprint assessment guiding sustainable material choices.
During construction, only renewable electricity will be used, and at least 75% of construction waste will be recycled.
