Aethon Books acquires majority stake in Vault Comics to expand genre publishing footprint

Science fiction and fantasy publisher Aethon Books has acquired a majority stake in Vault Comics, deepening its strategic alliance with the comic publisher known for titles such as Barbaric, Money Shot, and Big Rig, a collaboration with Post Malone.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Vault Comics will continue to operate under the leadership of CEO Damian Wassel and CCO Adrian Wassel, with Aethon Books co-founders Rhett C. Bruno and Steve Beaulieu joining Vault's board. The existing staffing remains unchanged.

The deal brings together Aethon's data-driven publishing model and Vault's creative portfolio, aiming to build a comprehensive platform for science fiction and fantasy content across formats. Aethon has found commercial success with digital-first series like He Who Fights with Monsters and Drop Trooper, and is a key partner of Webtoon, a global digital comics platform.

Damian Wassel said the acquisition will support expanded product offerings and increased marketing capabilities, with new project announcements expected soon.
