Scholastic forms unified Children's Book Group to enhance publishing reach and impact
Children's publishing, education and media company Scholastic (NASDAQ:SCHL) has announced the integration of its Trade Publishing, Book Fairs and Book Clubs divisions into a newly established Children's Book Group, effective 1 June 2025.
This reorganisation aims to strengthen Scholastic's market position by aligning its editorial, merchandising and distribution strategies across all sales channels.
Sasha Quinton, currently president of School Reading Events, will lead the new division as executive vice president and president, Scholastic Children's Book Group. Under Quinton's leadership, Book Clubs and Book Fairs have achieved strong profitability, including record revenue per fair.
In her expanded role, Quinton will also oversee Trade Publishing. She will continue to report to CEO Peter Warwick while working closely with Iole Lucchese, chief strategy officer and president of Scholastic Entertainment. This structure is designed to support Scholastic's broader intellectual property development strategy.
Jackie De Leo joins Scholastic Children's Book Group as publisher and chief merchant, reporting to Quinton. De Leo brings more than 25 years of publishing and retail experience, most recently serving as chief merchandising officer at Barnes & Noble.
Scholastic plans to share further details on the group's strategic direction as part of its fiscal 2025 earnings report and fiscal 2026 outlook in July.
