Bonnier Books UK transitions to Macmillan Distribution
Publishing company Bonnier Books UK revealed on Wednesday that it has completed its transition to Macmillan Distribution (MDL), concluding an 18-month project involving the transfer of 3.3 million books and complex system integrations across inventory, stock and sales data.
Co-CEO Jonathan Perdoni described the move as a major milestone and credited both internal teams and MDL for their coordination. The shift is expected to enhance operational efficiency and support Bonnier Books UK's growth strategy, with an emphasis on customer service and sustainability.
Commercial Director Matthew Hogg of MDL highlighted the depth of collaboration required, noting the project went well beyond logistics, encompassing system integration and organisational adaptation.
Grantham Book Services, Bonnier Books UK's former distributor, played a key role in ensuring a smooth transition. The move coincides with the publisher's 10th anniversary and signals a new phase in its supply chain evolution.
