Priscilla Presley memoir to be published by Grand Central Publishing in September 2025
Grand Central Publishing, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, announced on Wednesday that it will release Softly As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, a memoir by Priscilla Presley, on 23 September 2025.
The book will be available in hardcover, e-book and audiobook formats.
Executive editor Ben Schafer acquired North American rights from Alan Nevins of Renaissance Literary Management.
The memoir explores Presley's life following her high-profile separation from Elvis Presley and the emotional complexity of walking away from their shared world.
Priscilla Presley chronicles her transition from the insulated world of Graceland to her reinvention as a mother, businesswoman, actress and advocate. She discusses the enduring emotional bond with Elvis and the impact of his death on her and their daughter.
The book also addresses the profound personal losses Presley endured in later years, offering reflections on resilience and healing. Presley frames her story as one of growth, grief and enduring love.
Spanning eight decades, the memoir offers insight into Presley's identity beyond her association with Elvis and her journey toward independence.
