Norway-based contracting and industrial group AF Gruppen (OSE:AFG) announced on Friday that it has received a letter of award from Belgium-based Scaldis Salvage & Marine Contractors NV for a decommissioning project on the UK continental shelf.

This contract, valued at an estimated NOK100-125m excluding VAT, involves engineering and offshore preparation for the removal of three bridge-linked platforms.

Engineering work will begin immediately, with offshore preparation scheduled for the second quarter of 2026. The topside structures have a combined weight of approximately 6,500 metric tonnes.

The project will involve surveying, engineering and preparing the topsides for removal using reverse installation.

AF Gruppen sees this contract as a strategic expansion of its collaboration with Scaldis, reinforcing its expertise in offshore decommissioning.
