Truecaller to acquire US communications app TextPlus for USD15m
Stockholm-based communications platform Truecaller AB (STO: TRUE-B) said on Friday it has agreed to acquire TextPlus Inc., a US communications software company offering cloud-based voice, messaging and connectivity services.
The USD15m cash- and debt-free deal will be financed with Truecaller's own funds and is expected to close in Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
Founded in 2009, TextPlus has about 1.5 million monthly active users and a team of 14. The service offers dedicated phone numbers and supports domestic and international communication via a scalable cloud platform. For the twelve months to May 2026, TextPlus' adjusted net revenue reached USD5.2m, representing a CAGR of roughly 45% since 2023.
The acquisition expands Truecaller's US presence and adds complementary capabilities such as second numbers and VoIP calling. It also provides cross-selling opportunities, product and market insights, and a user base positioned as an alternative to traditional wireless carriers and MVNOs. Truecaller said the acquisition aligns with both companies' product-centric cultures and ambitions for sustainable, profitable growth.
