NCC to expand Kjøllefjord fishing port in northern Norway
Nordic construction company NCC AB (STO: NCC-B) announced on Friday that it has been commissioned by the Norwegian Coastal Administration to expand and upgrade the Kjøllefjord fishing port in Finnmark, Northern Norway.
The assignment is valued at about SEK500m and will be booked in the NCC Infrastructure business area in the third quarter of 2026.
Kjøllefjord is a busy fishing port and this expansion and upgrade project aims to improve protection for vessels, increase capacity and support local industry. NCC will build two new breakwaters measuring roughly 150 metres and 320 metres, dredge the inner harbour and develop new operational areas. Additionally, deepening the dock will require handling around 70,000 cubic metres of dredged material.
NCC will work closely with the Norwegian Coastal Administration and specialist partners, including its subsidiary Sjöentreprenören.
Work on the Kjøllefjord project will begin in September 2026 and is scheduled to finish in autumn 2029.
