BrainChip and ForwardEdge ASIC partner on neuromorphic AI for next-generation ASICs
Edge AI on-chip processing and learning company BrainChip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN) (OTCQX: BRCHF) (ADR: BCHPY) revealed on Wednesday that it has entered into a strategic collaboration with advanced microelectronics and edge processing solutions developer ForwardEdge ASIC, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), to integrate neuromorphic AI into future application-specific integrated circuits for edge processing applications.
This partnership combines BrainChip's neuromorphic AI technology with ForwardEdge ASIC's expertise in custom silicon design, RF systems and microelectronics, targeting aerospace, defence and advanced technology markets. The collaboration will focus on embedding AI acceleration directly into ASIC architectures to enable low-latency, power-efficient intelligence at the edge.
Under the joint development, the companies aim to deliver cognitive sensing solutions that integrate AI processing with RF signal chains, supporting real-time detection and classification of complex signals. The architecture is designed to reduce data movement, lower power consumption and enable autonomous operation in resource-constrained environments.
The collaboration is intended to accelerate deployment of production-ready edge AI solutions, leveraging scalable ASIC platforms and enabling enhanced performance in mission-critical applications.
