F5 announces partnership with Skyfire to enable secure agentic commerce
App security platform F5 Inc (NASDAQ: FFIV) announced on Wednesday that it has entered into a technology partnership with agentic commerce platform Skyfire to enable enterprises to securely identify, authenticate and monetise AI agent traffic, addressing growing demand for agent-driven commerce.
The planned integration will bring Skyfire's Know Your Agent (KYA) protocol to the F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform, allowing customers to distinguish legitimate AI agents from malicious automation. This enables enterprises to permit verified, revenue-generating agent activity while maintaining protection against threats such as fraud and credential abuse.
Through integration with F5 Distributed Cloud Bot Defense, customers will be able to validate AI agents using KYA identity tokens, gain visibility into agent origin and ownership, and enable secure transactions using tokenised payment credentials. The solution is designed to operate within existing infrastructure, leveraging standard authentication protocols without requiring system reconfiguration.
The partnership aims to transform previously blocked automated traffic into authenticated and monetisable interactions, supporting the emergence of AI agents as active participants in digital commerce. The integration is expected to be available by 30 April 2026.
