BigBear.ai and AD Ports Group partner on AI-driven customs and border systems
BigBear.ai (NYSE: BBAI), a provider of mission-ready AI solutions and services for defence, national security and critical infrastructure, announced on Wednesday that it has entered a strategic partnership with Maqta Technologies, the digital arm of AD Ports Group (ADX: ADPORTS), to explore the co-development and delivery of next-generation AI-powered customs and border management systems for governments and port operators globally.
The partnership will focus on applying advanced artificial intelligence to improve the speed and accuracy of cargo and traveller processing at ports of entry, reducing friction in global trade and enhancing operational efficiency and returns for commercial operators. Solutions are intended to support improved government revenue collection and strengthen detection of human trafficking, narcotics, arms and other contraband across seaborne trade, land borders and other critical cargo hubs.
According to the company, seaborne trade represents around 70% of global commerce by value, or approximately USD17 trn annually, with increasing volumes placing pressure on port and border infrastructure. The collaboration aims to act as a force multiplier for authorities and operators managing rising trade and travel flows.
