Publishing company Bonnier Books UK announced on Tuesday that it has appointed Anna Bond as managing director of the Bonnier Books UK Children's Group, signalling a strategic push for growth across its children's publishing operations. Bond will take up the role in April 2026.

The company said Bond will oversee the children's trade division alongside mass-market and craft imprint Igloo, with responsibility for long-term strategy, collaboration and expansion across a business generating more than GBP50m in annual turnover. The appointment strengthens leadership at a time of increased focus on scale, brands and intellectual property across children's publishing.

Bond spent the past five years as managing director of Hachette UK's Octopus Publishing Group, delivering sustained bestseller and global sales growth while broadening the list into narrative non-fiction and fiction. Bond's career also includes senior roles at Pan Macmillan as sales and brand director, working on major children's brands including Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's The Gruffalo. Current roles include chair of trustees at World Book Day Charity.

Bonnier Books UK Children's Group portfolio includes Disney publishing, Welcome to the Museum, Ultimate Football Heroes, authors such as Holly Black and E. Lockhart, and picture book and middle-grade brands including The Colour Monster and The Wild Robot. Recent recognition includes a shortlist for Children's Publisher of the Year at The British Book Awards and a Sales Professionals of the Year win for Igloo at the 2025 FutureBook Conference.
