GM Strengthens Leadership in Middle East SUV Market with Strong Q3 Performance
* Q3 2025 sales rise 28% across Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac compared to 2024
* Increasing traction among youth and expatriate buyers highlights shifting market dynamics
General Motors has reported strong momentum across its full-size SUV portfolio in the Middle East, recording a 28% year-on-year sales increase during the third quarter of 2025. This reflects the growing appeal of GM brands among traditional customers as well as emerging younger and expatriate demographics.
The Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade continue to underpin GM's leadership in the segment. Their combination of performance, presence and technology aligns closely with regional customer expectations. In September 2025, the brand saw the highest rate of sales growth across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait.
Customer loyalty remains a core strength for GM, supported by extensive aftersales capabilities. Repeat aftersales visits have increased by 33% over the past five years. GM Middle East holds substantial spare parts inventories to ensure quick service turnaround across Africa and the Middle East. Its regional dealerships consistently achieve fulfilment rates above 95% for fast-moving parts, helping minimise delays and keep vehicles on the road.
GM is also advancing its software and connectivity ecosystem. Over-the-air updates powered by OnStar are now being deployed across eligible GCC* markets, allowing vehicles to stay up-to-date without requiring a dealership visit.
Shifting consumer profiles continue to shape the region's automotive landscape. While GCC national customers remain central to GM's market strength, demand among Asian expatriates is rising significantly, with GM SUVs increasingly viewed as status- and lifestyle-driven purchases. Female ownership continues to grow, particularly in the UAE and Qatar. At the same time, buyers aged 20 to 29 are emerging as an influential segment, especially for flagship models like the Chevrolet Tahoe and Cadillac Escalade.
Speaking on the company's regional achievements, Jack Uppal, President and Managing Director for GM Africa and Middle East, said: " Driven by a new generation of customers and a bold shift in mobility expectations, our full-sized SUVs from Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac reflect the progressive identity of the Middle East and tech-focused vision. Meanwhile, the growing influence of expatriate customers on our iconic brands signals a shift in regional dynamics, and a demand for powerful, premium, and connected vehicles. Moreover, with innovations like Super Cruise coming soon to the region, GM remains focused on bringing meaningful, customer-driven technology to market and leading the way in advanced driver assistance and personal autonomous capabilities."
Model Highlights: Tailored Appeal Across Segments
