Netel secures substation upgrade contract with Elvia in Norway
Swedish critical infrastructure specialist Netel Holding AB (STO:NETEL) announced on Tuesday that its subsidiary Nett-Tjenester has signed an agreement with Norwegian energy company Elvia to upgrade three substations in Gjestad, Dal, and Garder.
The projects are valued at a total of approximately NOK70m.
Netel will manage design, materials, and installation, with work scheduled to begin in 2025 and completion targeted for the first quarter of 2027.
The upgrades are part of Elvia's initiative to raise the voltage between Minne and Frogner from 66 kV to 132 kV. Once completed, the enhancements will improve grid flexibility and redundancy in Øvre Romerike and increase electricity capacity toward the Gardermoen area.
