Gungnir Publishing strikes global distribution deal with Macmillan Publishers
Publishing company Macmillan Publishers revealed on Friday that it has signed a global distribution partnership with Gungnir Publishing, which has secured access to Macmillan's international sales, marketing and retail network. The deal positions Gungnir alongside a select group of independent publishers supported by one of the world's largest publishing houses.
The agreement will bring Gungnir's catalogue of high-concept graphic novels and speculative fiction to bookshelves worldwide. Initial titles include Last Breeds, AEON, The Dangerous History Saga, Existence Equation and Never A Never Boy.
Founded by former Heavy Metal CEO Matthew Medney, Gungnir focuses on genre-defying storytelling that blends science fiction, fantasy and mythology. Its roster includes Eisner-nominated writers Steve Orlando and Jim Krueger, supported by a global team of artists. The company aims to expand franchises across books, animation, gaming and transmedia platforms.
Three new imprints will also launch under the Macmillan umbrella. Storyteller Media will deliver author-led works with social impact, Asgard Books will adapt video game IPs into graphic novels and prose, while Rogue Matter will develop projects with boundary-pushing creators.
Macmillan Publishers CEO Jon Yaged said the partnership brings together Gungnir's creativity and innovation with Macmillan's global reach, while Medney described the alliance as a pivotal step in realising Gungnir's vision to amplify bold, cinematic and culturally resonant stories on a worldwide stage.
