Seeing Machines secures USD1.2m deal with autonomous driving leader
Seeing Machines Limited (AIM: SEE), an advanced computer vision technology company, announced on Monday that it has signed a USD1.2m agreement to supply its Guardian Backup-driver Monitoring Systems (BdMS) to a major North American autonomous vehicle company.
Guardian BdMS will be installed in the partner's test vehicles as they expand operations to new locations. The technology supports human back-up drivers during public road testing, helping maintain vigilance and mitigate safety risks during the development of self-driving systems.
The contract reinforces Seeing Machines' role in the autonomous mobility sector, particularly in ride-hailing, where early deployment phases require human oversight. BdMS acts as a critical bridge between manual supervision and fully autonomous operation, improving safety and building trust in the transition.
Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Australia, Seeing Machines develops AI-powered operator monitoring systems used across automotive, commercial fleet, off-road and aviation markets. Its proprietary Driver Monitoring Systems deliver real-time insights into driver attention and cognitive state to reduce accident risk. The company operates globally with offices in Australia, the US, Europe and Asia.
