PostNord Strålfors finalises acquisition of 21grams and enters strategic partnership with Banqup Group

Nordic communication management company PostNord Strålfors AB on Friday announced its acquisition of 21grams from Belgian transaction software provider Banqup Group SA, formerly Unifiedpost Group SA (Euronext:UPG), following regulatory approval by the Swedish competition authority.

The transaction, initially announced in July 2024, is expected to generate synergies by combining both companies' competencies and enhancing service offerings across the Nordic region.

21grams offers digital and physical customer communication solutions with a focus on software and postage optimisation. PostNord Strålfors plans to maintain 21grams' current portfolio, including postage optimisation tools such as iSort.

In conjunction, PostNord Strålfors and Banqup have entered a strategic partnership to expand B2B digital services across the Nordic market. This partnership enables Strålfors to offer e-invoicing via the Banqup platform and become Banqup's preferred e-invoice partner in the Nordics.

The transaction aligns with Banqup Group's transition into a SaaS-focused business, while PostNord Strålfors strengthens its market position in the Nordic region. Both parties have committed to significant investments to ensure the partnership's long-term success.

Governance changes as part of the competition authority's conditions include the separation of PostNord Strålfors from PostNord, with adjustments to leadership roles.
