Truecaller launches caller ID and spam blocking for iPhone
Caller ID and call blocking solutions company Truecaller AB (STO:TRUE-B) on Wednesday announced a significant update for iPhone users, including real-time caller ID and automated spam call blocking.
This update leverages Apple's latest iOS 18 features and Truecaller's AI capabilities to enhance the user experience. The update also introduces a Premium Family plan, allowing users to share Premium benefits with up to four additional family members.
Truecaller expects this launch to significantly boost its subscription revenues, particularly from iOS users, who already account for a substantial portion of the company's paying subscribers.
The functionality of Truecaller's caller ID on iOS has historically been limited to a smaller local database on the user's local device.
The new features, including automated spam blocking and enhanced caller ID, will be rolled out globally in the coming days and will be available for Truecaller Premium subscribers at the same price as for the Android offering. Free users on iOS will continue to have access to ad-supported manual number search and caller ID for verified businesses.
