AEye and Swiftstrike AI to integrate STRATOS Lidar into Counter-UAS systems
Lidar solutions provider AEye Inc (Nasdaq: LIDR) reported on Wednesday that it will work with Swedish defence technology company AB Swiftstrike AI to integrate AEye's STRATOS lidar into Swiftstrike's counter-UAS systems, aiming to improve early detection of smaller, faster drones.
The collaboration will combine Swiftstrike's autonomous, multi-sensor kinetic counter-UAS platform with STRATOS as an ultra-long-range detection layer. The companies said the technology is designed to identify drone threats that may not emit radio signals, addressing limitations of radio-frequency detection systems.
STRATOS can detect objects at up to 1.5 kilometres and offers more than twice the resolution of AEye's Apollo sensor. The system is designed to provide precise three-dimensional tracking of an object's distance, height and speed, supporting threat identification and response.
