LONDON, UK - The London Taxi Drivers' Charity for Children (LTCFC) has completed its historic 98th annual summer outing, taking a convoy of London taxis to Hertfordshire Zoo for the fourth consecutive year.

Over the last four years, the annual trip to Hertfordshire Zoo has taken nearly 1,000 London school children predominantly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on a day out tailored entirely to them.

Organising trips for children with complex needs can be an overwhelming hurdle for parents. By providing stress-free transport and coordination at the venue alongside classmates and families, the charity aims to create memories that the children and their families will look back on for the rest of their lives.

Mark Wiltshire, a contact from one of the participating schools, shared feedback on the day:

"Our children had a fabulous time at Hertfordshire Zoo! The event was well-organised, inclusive and run with tireless enthusiasm. The greatest care was taken with pupil's safety and wellbeing. Our driver really looked after us and gave us a superb, smooth ride."

Planning is already underway for summer 2027.

Funded entirely by voluntary donations and run by volunteer London cab drivers, the LTCFC provides free outings, entertainment, and equipment for children with special educational needs, disabilities, or disadvantaged backgrounds
