Smiths News secures long-term Frontline and Seymour distribution contracts

UK news and magazine wholesaler Smiths News plc (LON:SNWS) announced on Friday that it has secured new long-term contracts with magazine distributors Frontline Limited and Seymour Distribution Limited (part of the Frontline Group), extending its role as the exclusive national wholesale distributor for their titles across expanded territories in Great Britain.

The agreements include an expansion of the distribution territories in which the company is appointed as exclusive national wholesale distributor for Frontline and Seymour titles across all of Great Britain (effective from April 2030) and an extension in the contract term of the company's appointment through to April 2037. This provides Smiths News with long-term visibility over volumes as well as improved commercial certainty.

Smiths News expects the contracts to generate an incremental annual revenue uplift of approximately GBP105m across the expanded territories from April 2030.

Frontline and Seymour together represent more than 60% of the UK magazine market.

These awards follow the News UK and Associated Newspapers contract wins announced in June 2026, giving Smiths News a substantial long-term volume base across the national newspapers and magazines market.

The company said that guidance on implementation costs, early-life transition costs, network expansion benefits, and dividend and financing arrangements remains unchanged from its announcement on 17 June 2026.
