KeySIM Delivers Secure Remote Access Solution for WS4 Web Server
KeySIM has successfully deployed a secure remote access solution for a WS4 Web Server used by Tacsec Global, enabling engineers to remotely monitor and manage systems while significantly reducing the need for on-site visits.
The solution was implemented using a Teltonika RUT200 industrial router fitted with a KeySIM multi-network IoT SIM. By connecting the router to KeySIM's VPN platform, the router was assigned its own private fixed IP address, allowing authorised users to remotely access the WS4 Web Server from virtually anywhere.
Remote connectivity was achieved by configuring a simple port forwarding rule within the network settings of Teltonika RMS (Remote Management System). Once configured, engineers could securely access the WS4 Web Server directly through the router's private fixed IP address.
Unlike conventional mobile SIM cards, which are typically behind carrier-grade NAT and do not provide a routable IP address, KeySIM's VPN platform enables direct routing to the router's private fixed IP address, making reliable remote access possible for industrial and security applications.
The KeySIM IoT SIM also provides automatic access to Vodafone, O2, EE and Three, allowing the router to connect to the strongest available UK mobile network. This maximises the likelihood of maintaining a stable connection with sufficient bandwidth, helping ensure dependable remote access even in challenging locations.
Mark Drake, Tacsec Global, said:
"Providing fast, reliable support is critical for our customers. The combination of the Teltonika RUT200 and KeySIM's private fixed IP solution has given us secure remote access to the WS4 Web Server without the need to attend site in most cases. We expect this solution to eliminate around 90% of engineering call-outs, enabling us to respond more quickly while saving both time and operational costs for ourselves and our customers."
The deployment demonstrates how KeySIM's multi-network IoT SIMs, private fixed IP addressing and VPN platform can be combined with Teltonika industrial routers to provide reliable remote access for security systems, industrial equipment and other mission-critical connected infrastructure. By reducing unnecessary site visits while maintaining secure connectivity, organisations can improve service response times and lower ongoing support costs.
