Infleqtion launches Quantum Spectrum as new RF sensing category with allied defence contracts
Quantum computing company Infleqtion (NYSE: INFQ) declared on Wednesday that it has introduced Quantum Spectrum as a new category in quantum sensing, marking what it describes as the first fundamental shift in radio frequency (RF) sensing architecture in decades, with applications spanning contested and congested electromagnetic environments.
Quantum Spectrum is based on atom-enabled RF sensing using Rydberg atoms, enabling continuous detection across the full RF spectrum from hertz to terahertz within a single system. The platform is designed to detect, classify, and authenticate signals in environments affected by jamming, spoofing, drone proliferation, and spectrum congestion, where conventional receivers are increasingly limited.
The company has secured active defence programmes across the US, UK and Australia, including collaborations with U.S. Army DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory under the RIQER programme, the UK-funded Quantum Direction Finding initiative, and Australia's Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator programme delivered through the Defence Science and Technology Group. These efforts are focused on field trials, system hardening, and operational validation of atom-based RF sensing technologies.
Infleqtion is also working with integrator partners including Dell Federal, L3Harris and SAIC, positioning Quantum Spectrum for deployment across defence applications such as navigation, spectrum monitoring and GPS-denied operations. The company indicated that the technology could later extend into commercial markets including telecommunications, energy, aviation and autonomous systems.
