AerCap agrees to buy 100 Airbus A320neo aircraft
Irish-American aviation company AerCap Holdings N.V. (NYSE: AER) announced on Wednesday that it has made a purchase agreement with European aircraft manufacturing company Airbus SE (EPA: AIR), for 100 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft, including the exercise of previously arranged firm options.
Deliveries of the Airbus A320neo are scheduled from 2028 to 2034.
The company said it will also enter long-term lease agreements with Franco-American aircraft engine manufacturer CFM International for 48 LEAP-1A engines through its Shannon Engine Support joint venture, with deliveries beginning in the second quarter of 2026.
AerCap said the transaction supports its fleet growth plans and includes the exercise of 45 existing Airbus options alongside an additional 55 A320neo aircraft added to its order book, a move that Airbus described as AerCap's largest single direct order for the type.
