Heligan today announces the merger of its portfolio companies, Scanwel and Projectina, bringing the two businesses together as the Scanwel Group. The merger creates a specialist engineering, manufacturing and technology group serving the scientific, forensic and industrial markets.

The combination of Scanwel and Projectina strengthens the group's technical capabilities, international footprint and long-term growth potential, positioning the Scanwel Group as a leading provider of high-quality, specialist solutions across its core end markets.

Adam Bartlett has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Scanwel Group with effect from 1 January 2026. As part of his appointment, Adam will assume executive leadership responsibility for Projectina, succeeding Andy Archibald, who retired on 31 December 2025 following a planned transition period.

Adam Bartlett has been closely involved in integration planning and operational leadership across the group for several months. Adam will now lead the Scanwel Group and its constituent businesses, including Projectina, with a focus on operational integration, strategic alignment and long-term value creation.

Andy Archibald stepped down from his role as CEO of Projectina on 31 December 2025, having led the business since 2021. Heligan would like to thank Andy for his leadership, dedication and commitment to the business during this period, and for his support in ensuring a smooth and successful handover.
