Garmin launches GPSMAP H1i Plus with inReach Plus satellite technology
GPS-enabled technology company Garmin Ltd (NYSE: GRMN) announced on Wednesday that it has introduces the GPSMAP H1i Plus, a premium handheld GPS navigator featuring higher-bandwidth inReach Plus technology for off-grid communication. With an active inReach plan, users can share photos, voice memos and texts, and trigger interactive SOS messages to Garmin ResponseSM, a 24/7 international emergency assistance coordination centre.
The device features a bright 3.5-inch sunlight-readable touchscreen with physical buttons, up to 145 hours of battery life, and preloaded TopoActive maps. Users can purchase an Outdoor Maps+ plan for premium mapping content, including elevation contours, land boundaries and wildlife areas. LiveTrack location sharing enables loved ones to monitor trips in real time.
Rugged and purpose-built for backcountry use, the GPSMAP H1i Plus is IP67-rated, supports multiple satellite systems and Multi-band mode, and includes a loud emergency siren, integrated flashlight, voice control, Garmin Explore trip planning, and satellite weather updates.
GPSMAP H1i Plus is available now at a suggested retail price of USD999.99. A GPSMAP H1 model without inReach Plus technology is also offered at USD699.99.
