Storytel to launch audiobook and e-book service in Estonia

Swedish audiobook and e-book streaming service Storytel AB (STO:STORY) on Thursday announced plans to expand its audiobook and e-book streaming platform into Estonia, with the launch scheduled for 13 October 2025.

The service will be operated from Storytel Finland's Helsinki office.

Storytel sees Estonia as a strategic opportunity, citing the country's strong reading culture and reputation for digital innovation. At launch, the company will provide access to around 700,000 titles for a population of nearly 1.4 million.

To strengthen its local catalogue, Storytel has partnered with Estonian platform Digiread. The collaboration will feature works by local author Indrek Hargla alongside international names such as Freida McFadden, Colleen Hoover, and Stephen King.

CEO Bodil Eriksson Torp said that the move aligns with Storytel's profitable growth strategy, which targets six to eight new market entries over the coming years, with a focus on Europe.
