DITP Leads Thai Content Roadshow to Hong Kong FILMART 2025, Targeting Over 1.2 billion Baht

The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, is collaborating with four key partners - the Ministry of Culture, the Department of Tourism, and the Thailand Creative Culture Agency (THACCA) - to drive the continued growth of Thailand's entertainment industry in the global market. Together, they are leading 37 Thai companies to participate in the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market 2025 (FILMART), Asia's largest content marketplace. This event will take place from March 17-20, 2025, in Hong Kong SAR, China, with a target of generating trade negotiations worth at least 1.2 billion THB.

DITP revealed that under Thailand's Soft Power promotion policy, the entertainment industry - particularly films, television dramas, and series - is a high-potential sector. To enhance the competitiveness of Thai entrepreneurs, DITP is providing marketing support, business matchmaking opportunities, and participation in international trade fairs to promote Thai content on the global stage.

FILMART is one of the most significant global platforms for the film and television industry and the largest content marketplace in Asia. Each year, it attracts over 7,000 buyers from around the world seeking innovative films, television programs, dramas, series, and production services. As a crucial gateway for expanding Thailand's creative presence internationally, the event provides a prime opportunity for Thai companies to showcase their expertise. DITP will facilitate business matching activities, enabling immediate content sales, fostering international co-productions, and encouraging strategic investments and partnerships.

In 2025, DITP, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Department of Tourism, and THACCA, will bring Thai companies to FILMART through a business matchmaking initiative. The effort aims to highlight the global potential of Thailand's entertainment industry, enhance the country's international image, and support the Soft Power policy. The delegation includes 37 Thai companies, representing key industry sectors including 15 leading film and animation producers and distributors, 6 professional production and post-production service providers catering to international film productions in Thailand, 6 creators of popular television content, including entertainment programs, game shows, and dramas and 10 companies specializing in BL and GL series with strong international followings.

This initiative aligns with the Thai government's Soft Power strategy, positioning Thailand as a prominent hub for entertainment and creative services. By leveraging FILMART's influential platform, Thai businesses aim to elevate their visibility, enhance competitiveness, and reinforce Thailand's reputation as a key player in the global entertainment industry.
