Philips and Mass General Brigham collaborate to enhance patient care with AI-driven insights
Dutch health technology company Royal Philips (NYSE:PHG) (AEX:PHIA) on Friday announced a partnership with Mass General Brigham to integrate AI-powered data analytics into clinical practice.
The collaboration aims to create a real-time data ecosystem that enhances patient care by unifying healthcare data from multiple sources.
Philips' software platforms will enable clinicians to capture, analyse and respond to live data streams from medical devices and clinical records. The initiative will combine bedside device data, such as ventilators and monitors, with lab results and electronic medical records to provide comprehensive insights. Philips' Capsule Medical Device Information Platform will aggregate data, while its Clinical Insights Manager and Capsule Surveillance will facilitate analysis and smart alerts.
Mass General Brigham will contribute expertise from its biomedical engineering, AI and digital teams to support data integration and algorithm development. The goal is to identify patient-cohort patterns and generate actionable alerts to assist clinical decision-making.
The collaboration's initial research will focus on real-time heart monitoring to enhance early detection of cardiac events, potentially improving outcomes and accelerating treatment.
