Diodes launches high-sensitivity Hall effect latch for automotive motor systems
Semiconductor company Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD) announced on Wednesday that it has expanded its AH371xQ series of automotive-compliant Hall effect latches with the launch of the AH3711Q, targeting low-threshold motor control and position-sensing applications in vehicles.
The new device is designed for brushless DC motor control, valve systems, rotary encoders and position sensing across applications including power windows, sunroofs, tailgates, seat adjustment motors, cooling fans and fluid pumps.
Diodes said the AH3711Q's ultra-high sensitivity, operating across a ±10 Gauss range, enables the use of smaller and lower-cost magnets, reducing overall system size and bill-of-materials costs while lowering power consumption.
The component operates across a 3V to 27V range and includes protection against load dumps, reverse polarity and short circuits, alongside enhanced electrostatic discharge resistance for harsh automotive environments. The device also supports operation across temperatures ranging from -40°C to +150°C.
The AH3711Q is available in multiple package configurations and is priced at USD0.20 in 2,000-piece quantities. A standard-compliance variant for industrial and commercial applications is also available.
