Voyager wins Redwire subcontract for DARPA Otter space mission
Voyager Technologies (NYSE: VOYG), a defence technology and space solutions company, announced on Wednesday that it has secured a subcontract from Redwire (NYSE: RDW) to provide its Acceleration Measurement System for the DARPA Otter programme, which is developing the first air-breathing spacecraft.
Voyager's high-precision system will support ultra-low Earth orbit operations by delivering detailed acceleration and delta-V measurements required for manoeuvring, orbital adjustments and deorbiting in an environment with increased atmospheric drag.
The company said the technology is based on more than a decade of operational heritage from NASA missions, including the Space Acceleration Measurement System, Microgravity Acceleration Measurement System and the Magnetospheric Multiscale constellation.
The DARPA Otter mission is focused on enabling spacecraft to operate efficiently in very low Earth orbit using air-breathing propulsion technology.
