IBM announces completion of Unica acquisition
IT company IBM (NYSE: IBM) on Wednesday announced the closing of its acquisition of Unica Corporation, a marketer of software solutions. Financial details of the acquisition were not available.
With the acquisition of Unica, IBM is acquiring enterprise and cloud-based marketing software solutions that help businesses streamline and automate marketing processes, and understand and predict customer preferences and gain customer insight.
Unica has reportedly helped over 1,500 organisations around the world to better analyse customer preferences and trends, predict customer buying needs and execute and measure relevant cross-channel marketing campaigns. Its clients include Best Buy, eBay, ING, InterContinental Hotels Group, Monster, and US Cellular.
With the closing of this acquisition, approximately 500 Unica employees are expected to join IBM’s Software Solutions Group.
